MBA deadlines are here again As important as it is to plan ahead and invest real time in developing your MBA applications — from story and goal development, to 'why MBA' and school research and engagement, to essays, resumes, LORs, and interview prep — time management can become a down-to-the-day exercise this time of year, especially if you, like most applicants, are applying to several MBA programs in a single round. This time last year, I published a similar deadline calendar to help applicants "visualize" the spacing between their programs' deadlines, and it became a valuable resources for clients and non-clients alike. So I've brought it back for the 2019-2020 MBA application season, starting with the crux of Round 1, which runs through the middle of October. I'll update it to include Round 2 in a few weeks. To keep things manageable, I've included the top 29 U.S. programs, several leading international programs, and The Consortium. Rankings are based on Poets & Quants' composite rankings. A few things to keep in mind As with last year, there are a few things to keep in mind. First, the deadlines shown are for flagship full-time MBA programs only. The calendar does not include part-time, truncated, or specialty programs. So you won't, for example, see the likes of Stern's Fashion & Luxury MBA or Tech MBA below. [Both are one-year speciality programs that carry Round 1 deadlines of September 15.] I included a single asterisk (*) for programs with non-traditional round structures — think Sep-Oct-Jan at Cambridge Judge; Sep-Nov-Jan at INSEAD and Oxford Saïd; Oct-Nov-Jan at NYU Stern, Cornell Johnson, and Emory Goizueta; Oct-Dec-Jan at UNC Kenan-Flagler; and Oct-Dec-Feb at Georgia Tech Scheller. [I did not tag programs with separate "early rounds" in the same manner.] Finally, I added a double asterisk (**) for programs with rolling admissions, such as Columbia Business School, whose early deadline is shown, and HEC Paris, which has mini-deadlines within its rolling period. Others with rolling admissions (e.g., SDA Bocconi, National University of Singapore) aren't shown because their deadlines are pretty wide open, so there are no current dates to show. Please note that Carnegie Mellon Tepper's Round 1 deadline falls on a Sunday (October 6, 11:59pm ET). This is reflected below. Please be sure to review/confirm all deadlines and application cutoff times directly with the programs to which you are applying.
There are only a handful of deadlines in late October, November, and December, so rather than post a full-on calendar, I'll list them out here. I will also publish a January calendar in the coming weeks.
With the exception of Tepper and Scheller (and HEC Paris, which publishes mini-deadlines within their rolling period), all of the schools in this bulleted list have a third deadline in January, before trailing off into the really late and difficult March and April deadlines we'd commonly associate with a "traditional Round 3." Tepper's next deadline isn't until early March, meaning December 19 is their "true Round 2 deadline" — it simply falls before the holidays. Scheller's next deadline is February 3.
